The day started off with RED ANTS CRAWLING ALL OVER OUR CAR OKAY IT WAS SO WEIRD AND CREEPY AND I DO NOT LIKE ANTS. AT ALL. Or any kind of bugs.
We stopped at at random coffee shop to take our breakfast. It was the old kind of shop, like the ones you see in Old Town White Coffee advertisements.
There was NOBODY THERE. At 10 o'clock in the morning. This cannot happen in Kuala Lumpur. Although the food was quite good (yong tau foo and kuey teow soup!) the coffee was slightly lacking. There was seaweed in the soup noodles, though, so that made it up.
They had pictures of old singers and stars on the walls. I don't know who they are, although my mom and dad had fun pointing out each of them and giving me a short summary on their singing careers. That prompted my dad into saying that people mentioned he looked like Bruce Lee when he was younger and I lol'd.
More pics. My grandmother commented that the one of the right looks like my mother. (or rather, my mom looks like her.)
I want this clock, minus the Malay words. xD
They even made their tea this way, with the soaking-in-hot-water and tin pots and everything.
After that we left and I passed by this saloon
and look! Isn't the model pretty? I love her clothes, and her hair. Basically she's just really really cute. Sorry about the reflections.
After that we went to another small town for coffee. It's an old place my parents went to once before and they loved it.
That's the coffee shop, and that's my dad in white.
They still had the Golden Years sort of feel to it, with the television and the loaves of bread. So much bread.
The bread was really, really good. It just sort of melts in your mouth and just crunchy enough to enjoy chewing it. Very lightly browned. The kaya was good too.
My grandma approves of the coffee.
Then my dad went and bought a few bunches of bananas. I don't know.
We left, and I wondered if we'd ever go back again. Even so, would the place still retain it's old time feel and British buildings?
After that we left and sped off towards Singapore because my dad was late for his appointment with his friend.
My grandmother and I kicked it back and snored off in the car, basically because the passing scenery looked like this
And, my first picture I got in Singapore.
