Singapore Day 1

Because I have procrastinated like there's no tomorrow. Probably should update my Singapore experience now.

The day started off with RED ANTS CRAWLING ALL OVER OUR CAR OKAY IT WAS SO WEIRD AND CREEPY AND I DO NOT LIKE ANTS. AT ALL. Or any kind of bugs.

We stopped at at random coffee shop to take our breakfast. It was the old kind of shop, like the ones you see in Old Town White Coffee advertisements.

There was NOBODY THERE. At 10 o'clock in the morning. This cannot happen in Kuala Lumpur. Although the food was quite good (yong tau foo and kuey teow soup!) the coffee was slightly lacking. There was seaweed in the soup noodles, though, so that made it up.

They had pictures of old singers and stars on the walls. I don't know who they are, although my mom and dad had fun pointing out each of them and giving me a short summary on their singing careers. That prompted my dad into saying that people mentioned he looked like Bruce Lee when he was younger and I lol'd.

More pics. My grandmother commented that the one of the right looks like my mother. (or rather, my mom looks like her.)

I want this clock, minus the Malay words. xD

They even made their tea this way, with the soaking-in-hot-water and tin pots and everything.

After that we left and I passed by this saloon

and look! Isn't the model pretty? I love her clothes, and her hair. Basically she's just really really cute. Sorry about the reflections.

After that we went to another small town for coffee. It's an old place my parents went to once before and they loved it.

That's the coffee shop, and that's my dad in white.

They still had the Golden Years sort of feel to it, with the television and the loaves of bread. So much bread.

The bread was really, really good. It just sort of melts in your mouth and just crunchy enough to enjoy chewing it. Very lightly browned. The kaya was good too.

My grandma approves of the coffee.

Then my dad went and bought a few bunches of bananas. I don't know.

We left, and I wondered if we'd ever go back again. Even so, would the place still retain it's old time feel and British buildings?

After that we left and sped off towards Singapore because my dad was late for his appointment with his friend.

My grandmother and I kicked it back and snored off in the car, basically because the passing scenery looked like this

Thank god my grandma didn't see this picture of her.

And, my first picture I got in Singapore.

THESE BUGS ARE TAKING OVER THE WORLD.

Oh.

I learned today that people aren't nice.

I'm blessed to be surrounded by a wonderful (highly questionable) family, amazing (freakish) friends and a protective (torturous) environment.

And then there is the backstabbing, traitorous sort of people, who just use you.

Friends are friends. You don't like person because they could be of use to you. You like them because they're them.

I pity those people who don't have real friends. Real friends are those who would stand by you, even if you're the only one standing; sit with you even if you aren't supposed to be sitting; laugh with you when you're happy; cry with you when you're sad.

Real friends don't treat you like dirt on their shoes that occasionally needs to be scrapped off, continuously ignore your existence until they need you to do something, stab you in the back with a poison-tipped knife or any of the above.

I treat my friends like precious things. My friends hold a priceless part of my heart, and sometimes I wonder if I'm giving out too much of my heart away.

And then you came along.

You're not the first I met who turned out to be no good. I have met many, and I don't try to forget them. I occasionally wonder why I was friends with them in the first place, and I never gave myself a good enough answer.

But that's okay.

Honestly, you were never that much of a close friend, and it was only today that I learned apparently you thought I was! Close enough to think that I would be affected badly by your constant behavior. Really? Unlike you, I have other friends, whereas you just emo your ass off.

Oh, I'm sorry I can make friends better than you, hang out better than you, have people like me better than you. I'm sorry you're so pathetic you have to turn to self-help books and yet after that STILL seem to misunderstand it and make a fool of yourself.

I'm sorry I don't have to pretend to be the nice, good guy and still have more people back me up.

I'm sorry you live such a pitiful life.

I'm sorry sarcasm doesn't come off well written.

So, hey, think what you like. I don't need you to tell me I'm stupid, because I know I'm not, and that's enough for me. And really? You can take the shit and the J's, 'cause by all means, do. I've given up on them. You can work your magic there and see what sort of retarded crap you come up with.

By the way, please don't think I've overtaken you. You're mistaken. You've never been better than me in the first place.
