Singapore Day 1

Because I have procrastinated like there's no tomorrow. Probably should update my Singapore experience now.

The day started off with RED ANTS CRAWLING ALL OVER OUR CAR OKAY IT WAS SO WEIRD AND CREEPY AND I DO NOT LIKE ANTS. AT ALL. Or any kind of bugs.

We stopped at at random coffee shop to take our breakfast. It was the old kind of shop, like the ones you see in Old Town White Coffee advertisements.

There was NOBODY THERE. At 10 o'clock in the morning. This cannot happen in Kuala Lumpur. Although the food was quite good (yong tau foo and kuey teow soup!) the coffee was slightly lacking. There was seaweed in the soup noodles, though, so that made it up.

They had pictures of old singers and stars on the walls. I don't know who they are, although my mom and dad had fun pointing out each of them and giving me a short summary on their singing careers. That prompted my dad into saying that people mentioned he looked like Bruce Lee when he was younger and I lol'd.

More pics. My grandmother commented that the one of the right looks like my mother. (or rather, my mom looks like her.)

I want this clock, minus the Malay words. xD

They even made their tea this way, with the soaking-in-hot-water and tin pots and everything.

After that we left and I passed by this saloon

and look! Isn't the model pretty? I love her clothes, and her hair. Basically she's just really really cute. Sorry about the reflections.

After that we went to another small town for coffee. It's an old place my parents went to once before and they loved it.

That's the coffee shop, and that's my dad in white.

They still had the Golden Years sort of feel to it, with the television and the loaves of bread. So much bread.

The bread was really, really good. It just sort of melts in your mouth and just crunchy enough to enjoy chewing it. Very lightly browned. The kaya was good too.

My grandma approves of the coffee.

Then my dad went and bought a few bunches of bananas. I don't know.

We left, and I wondered if we'd ever go back again. Even so, would the place still retain it's old time feel and British buildings?

After that we left and sped off towards Singapore because my dad was late for his appointment with his friend.

My grandmother and I kicked it back and snored off in the car, basically because the passing scenery looked like this

Thank god my grandma didn't see this picture of her.

And, my first picture I got in Singapore.

THESE BUGS ARE TAKING OVER THE WORLD.

The hotel we stayed in

on Teluk Blangah, which I keep calling "the Belachan road" for some reason (it's much easier to remember, really!)

Crazy angle pictures, because I was lying on the bed and facing the ceiling and also because I CAN.

Then we had dinner at the steamboat restaurant right next to the hotel, where they served two kinds of soup. I didn't take any pictures because it was cramped and there wasn't really enough space on the table. (Most likely due to all the different foods we ordered, haha.)

We went to the Sands casino (obviously, I, being underage and holding a camera, was not allowed in.) My thoughtful parents sent me off alone to the shopping centre. The place looked like a cross between Pavilion, Sunway and KLCC.

Every single shop in there is an international, high-end brand name. And they're like, just side by side with each other. My brain it weeps.

Gucci is probably one of the more conspicuous shops. It's on your immediate right once you go down the escalator from the casino floor.

 Tiffany right next to Chanel.

LIKE A BOSS

One of my favorite brands, Thomas Sabo. I swear one day I will buy their Black Raven collection.

They even had a projection of a fashion show, this Swarvoski.

((work in progress))

THIS CANNOT BE SHOE SHOP. THIS IS MORE LIKE A SHOE ARTS GALLERY. SO AMAZING. It sort of reminds me of something from xxxHolic. ZOMG DOESN'T EVEN QUALIFY ANYMORE.

After that I sort of stopped taking pictures of shopfronts because there was just so many (this is only one floor) and I dunno, but a small girl taking pictures of shopfronts in the middle of the night is highly suspicious. At least, people sort of gave me odd looks. Or that could just be me.

Opposite is the Sands hotel, and the thing that looks like a boat on the roof is the Sky Park (if my memory did not fail me) which we visited on the last day.

Went back to the shopping gallery and saw these amazing people:

They walked really fast for people on tall stilts so I couldn't get a close-up.

He's scaring someone, but she's sort of blocked by his... height.

Somebody celebrated their birthday at Coffee Bean, and the staff was nice enough to sing her a (very loud) birthday song. (I was a floor higher and on the other side of the atrium, but I could still hear it.)

This does wonders for my yaoi-mind.

We saw a gold man.

Literally a gold man, with his gold bike.

And also a ginormous wishing well.

This very epic person was joking with the rest of the people there, saying things like, "I can hear you." "Oh, throw that coin." "Did that go in?" "Nice throw." "I can hear what you're saying. I can hear you, you and you."

I lol'd SO HARD.

Night views.

I was very tempted to say, OH SHINY LIGHTS!
